Five Summer Hacks to Beat The Heat

This summer promises to be a scorcher. When it starts to get hot most people head inside to enjoy the air conditioning. Others want to spend their time enjoying summer, but they still want to beat the heat. There are a few summer Life hacks that anyone can do and they don’t even cost much.

Ice Cold Water All Day

During summer everyone should be trying to stay hydrated. It’s recommended that everyone drink two quarts of water every day. Keeping the body hydrated not only allows it to process nutrition more effectively, it also helps keep the body cool. Cold water is pretty refreshing on a hot summer day, but most water bottles don’t stay cold long. Instead of buying cold bottles of water throughout the day, reusable water bottles can be put in the freezer. Filling the bottle half way and freezing it will keep water cold for hours.

Cool Any Drink Quickly

Hot drinks aren’t exactly refreshing. No one likes taking a swig of hot soda. Those drinks can be put in the fridge to cool down, but that could take half an hour or more. Instead, that hot soda can be submerged in a bowl of ice water with salt. The salty water cools more quickly than regular water. The drink will be ready in just a few minutes.

Cool Sun Burn Treatment

Aloe vera is known to be the best treatment for sunburn. This helpful plant contains a get that can be applied directly to the skin. For a little extra relief, the gel can be squeezed out and froze into cubes. These aloe gel cubes feel great on a burn and help it heal more quickly.

Hot Steering Wheel

Sometimes a shady parking spot isn’t available. ON a summer day this means the inside of the car is going to be hot in just a short while. By turning the steering wheel as far as possible before getting out of the car, the driver can avoid burning their hands when they get back in.

Portable Air Conditioning

With a foam cooler, a fan, and some ice a portable air conditioner unit can be crafted. This cheap AC unit can cool a small area pretty effectively and costs less than ten dollars to make. Instructions can be found at sites such as DIYncrafts.
